How to Connect iPod to a TV

This is an old topic that has been written many times. In most cases, it means that your iPod cannot connect to an external device or work on its own before being plugged in and synced to iTunes.  It can also refer to the need for a firmware upgrade or a recovery.

What we need to connect iPod to TV are  a television with at least component cable hook-ups and a camcorder A/V cable.

The first step is to find videos from iPod in the compatible format. Videos can be purchased through the iTunes store, which will already come in iPod-ready resolution and file format. Videos can also be converted on your computer to an iPod format and imported into iTunes, where they can be transferred to the iPod.

Depending upon your budget and your aesthetic preferences for your home theater setup, you have many options to choose from when looking for a way to connect iPod and TV. The simplest, most direct method is to simply connect the iPod to the TV with a cable, though this method may be the least elegant and attractive. For more sophisticated methods of connectivity, specially designed iPod docks integrate more directly into your home theater setup. All of these options are very simple to set up, and step-by-step instructions are listed below. Then we can connect iPod to TV.

The iPod-TV connection may not be everyone's first choice for video viewing, especially if high definition video and audio is an important concern. However, if we want the ease and flexibility of integrating iPod with home theater system, this connection is a great option to have.
